My Sadie loves the Acana Wholesome Grains! She is a very picker eater but enjoys the flavor of this dog food. I believe her previous dog food was too bland for her to enjoy. She would just pick at it and not eat her entire bowl at mealtime. She eats the entire bowl with this flavor. This particular flavor contains beef, pork, oats, and lamb. No wonder she likes it! The ingredients, vitamin breakdown, and feeding guide are on the bag. I like that it shows what ingredients I'm feeding my dog. All of the information on the bag is very helpful. There aren't any artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives in this dog food. I'm so glad this product is made with natural ingredients that are healthy for my dog. I highly recommend this product to others who are looking for a healthy brand of dog food for their dogs. I will be purchasing another bag for Sadie when this one is gone.Upon receiving and initially opening the food, my dog was very interested, sniffing the bag and eating a couple handfuls. After that initial feeding her interest level decreased. She will still eat the food when she is hungry, but does not get excited over it or run to her bowl when we fill it. What I have noticed with my dog is that she tends to get excited over dog foods which contain different sizes and flavors. And with her being 12, she really loves softer meatier bits. I believe if this food had a size and flavor combination or a bit softer pieces, it would have elevated her preference from liking this food to loving it.As a dog mom, I really do like the ingredient list including 60% protein-rich animal ingredients + 40% wholesome grains, vegetables, fruit, botanicals and nutrients. The ingredients include some of my dog’s favorite food combinations like chicken and fish.I would love to see this same formula remade with the few adjustments I have made above.Normally, my dog is an incredibly picky eater. I’m lucky if she even tries her new dog food, let alone finishes it, but with ACANA dry dog food my Chihuahua gobbled up each, and every bite! Plus, she never got tired of eating it and always cleaned her dish until the bag was empty. Besides my dog loving ACANA, I also loved it, thanks to its balanced nutrients and minerals to keep my dog happy and healthy. I was also delighted to know that these perfect-sized, easy-to-eat morsels first ingredient contained deboned chicken with no extra fillers. I will definitely be purchasing ACANA dog food again in the future, as well as recommending it to all my family, and friends for their picky eaters.I really liked this dog food. My dog loved it! Before I even mixed it in with his current food, I gave him a small handful as a little snack to see if he liked it. He ate it right up. I went onto slowly adding it into his regular food and he ate all of it at once. He usually leaves some food in his bowl and finishes it as the night goes on. Not with this new food. I love that this food is healthy and made with wholesome grains. It’s a better product and makes me feel good about him eating it. We feed him a mix of wet and dry food, and when we transitioned him to Acana Wholesome Grains, we noticed that his kibble was disappearing a lot faster than usual! It’s made with a combination of poultry and fish so it does smell a bit fishy, but honestly, I’m happy with whatever makes him happy! The zip-top bag is also super convenient. Usually he picks pieces out of his bowl and only eats some of it, but with ACANA he’s been eating the whole bowl. We also had a recent vet visit for annual vaccines and our vet commented on how great his coat looks so I think the food is really helping!We tried mixing this in with our dog’s other dog food and she would pick out all of the kibble of the Acana to eat first. So we had to start giving her only a little of her old dog food first and then add in the Acana to get her to eat both. Highly recommended!The Acana Wholesome Grains food is a great dog food.
