I have two cats, one is 4 the other is 1.5 years old they both love this food never leave very much left in the bowl which is pretty amazing for catsThe vet said our cat is allergic to lamb, fish, or chicken and that we should eliminate those to get him to stop scratching. She recommended beef, rabbit, duck, and some others, so we decided to try the red meat version. We didn't realize until we got it that it contains lamb and fish. Fish meal is the 2nd ingredient, and deboned lamb is about halfway down the list. It won't work for us, and is frustrating that it's so hard to find a food that doesn't contain 60+ ingredients...I have 5 dogs and this company holds the monopoly on beef puppy food. Most dogs are allergic to chicken, to have to pay so much for so little is really sad.Georgey loves this. I always keep some in his dish for snacking between meals. He always cleans the bowl. I'm afraid they'll stop making it.Expensive, cats are nor crazy about it for some reason, out of stock often when trying to order again, went with Purina 1, still waiting on my orderWhat cat doesn’t like the taste of rabbit? Apparently mine love it, almost as much as they loved the Blue Buffalo with duck. Great product, arrived very quickly. Only thing not perfect was the price point…The cat eats it, so I will try to convey his thoughts, since he cannot verbalize and is unable to use a keyboard with his large furry feet. He has been eating it for four years, so it seems reasonable to assume that he likes it, BUT maybe he actually hates it and has dreams of having me locked in a kennel with him in charge of feeding me. In the dream he just feeds me the same thing every day until the end of time itself and he just assumes that I like it because he cannot discern my words as I beg him to give me ANYTHING else. In addition, In his dream I would also be forced to relieve myself in a large plastic box filled with clay absorbent - but he would occasionally forget to clean it, so I would have to step around my own clumped feces and urine every time I had to go. You never know. OR just maybe having no variety in his diet all these years has given him cat PTSD and one night he's just going to snap and attack my unprotected face while I sleep. Even then, I would not know why he attacked me and so I would probably just end up giving him away after he did that six or seven times and my eyes were all scratched out. Then I would need a seeing eye dog, but I would just be in the exact same predicament with the food that I gave to the dog. The sad truth is that I don't and can't know if he likes it or not, so I am giving it five stars because it's expensive and comes in elaborate packaging, so I assume it must be good. This food may be saving my kitty's life. A while ago our 12 YO tabby stopped eating dry food and gagged over wet food, lost about 1/3 of her body weight this summer. This remains undiagnosed by the vet after a full exam, blood work and a belly ultrasound. She was about to get on a 'novel protein' prescription diet consisting of rabbit meat and a lifelong dependency on steroids hoping to -maybe- fix what -might- be wrong, but I couldn't put her through that when we really have no idea why she is ill. Instead I bought a whole rabbit from the butcher and she has really taken to that, and it seemed to help some. I started some of this Blue Wilderness and she is digging in, the first dry food in months. I am hopeful! The other 2 cats go crazy for this too, absolutely love it, even our 15 YO boy who has been spoiled on a pure canned food diet his whole life (I have never seen him eat dry till this bag was opened!). I hope a truly healthy food will extend our tabby's life at least, it seems the kindest course to take and she is happy. Doing the Subscribe and Save for Blue! Update: Tabby has gained back all her lost weight, doing really well. So hard to believe the food she has eaten all her life was now a problem, but the Blue has brought her back from death's door so we are going with it. Knock wood maybe she developed some allergy or other aversion to that old produce which is now cured with the new food. Mystery persists, but I know this food is making the difference for her.
